The first time I discovered the beauty of the cork harvest was in 2014. I participated at a design contest organised by a Belgian Art House called Z33.
For more than 10 years, I had been working in the show production industry building temporary installations for fashion shows and private events.
I started to feel uncomfortable about the waste produced by these projects. So I got motivated to do research in finding a new material to build architectural installations...
